Terms and Definitions:

  1. VCBs (Virtual Champagne Brunch) are on the first and third weeks of the month on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays. VCBs happen at Pacific time mornings – we’ll discuss times more when we get in touch about scheduling.
  2. Tuesday Trainings happen on the second Tuesday of the month, and presenters are booked per invitation from the SECO team.

Specs:

  1. VCBs are approximately 60 minutes in length — 40 minutes of your presentation and 20 mins of Q&A.

You can do any kind of talk:

    • Formal with slides
    • AMA (Ask Me Anything)
    • Casual chat about a topic you specialize in
    • Be interviewed by one of our team
  2. Our Learner Liaison for Member Mojo will be present to moderate and assist as needed.
  3. VCBs happen in the Learner Liaison’s Zoom Room. Tuesday Trainings happen in Michelle’s Zoom Room.
  4. Remember, the format can be formal or casual, in accordance with the preferences and comfort of the presenter.

The Process:

  1. Please complete this form.
  2. Upon submission of this form, the Learner Liaison will be in touch about whether your presentation application is immediately approved, or what needs to be tweaked to ensure that it gets approved forthwith.

Here is a basic rubric, so you know what we are looking for:

    1. Topics within the scope of business, music, education, pedagogy as art, personal development, creativity, DEI.
    2. Please refrain from offering a presentation on topics that cannot be directly tied back to the mission and vision of The SpeakEasy Cooperative.
    3. Something that makes you feel AMAZING (or at least mildly enthused) about the work that you do in the world and that you are proud of.
    4. Clear Abstract – we need to get a really good idea of what you are actually going to teach us and why it is important for us to learn (the “so that”).
    5. If your abstract is not clear, we will help you get it clear.
    6. Our goal is a 100% acceptance rate as long as the topics are relevant and bring value.
  3. Please note we may need to adjust your preferred month. We schedule several months out and your desired month may already be full. The Learner Liaison will help with this, no worries!
  4. Once approved, and presentation time is confirmed, you can begin to create and prepare your presentation.
  5. The month before your presentation, we will send you another form for you to make any edits, add PDF’s you’d like to share, give us an outline to put on the site, etc.
  6. Show up to the Learner Liaison Zoom Room 15 minutes before your scheduled time for tech check.
  7. Work your Mojo at your presentation!
  8. If you forgot to provide us with any PDF’s or an outline, we will ask you for it again. (see #5) We got you!

  9. Allow us to shower praise and adulation upon you!
  10. If, at any point, you feel lost or confused about the process, please contact our Learner Liaison at learnerliaison@faithculturekiss.com.

This is an application and not a guarantee that you will present.

Terms, Conditions, and Legal Information:

All presentations will be recorded and will be posted to the “members only” area of our website. They will not be available for the presenter’s or any other member’s personal use or for dissemination outside of The SpeakEasy Cooperative®. We care about your privacy. (And it’s also illegal! This is necessary to comply with Intellectual Property and Copyright law, to protect all members of SECO!)

Thank you again for sharing your time and expertise with SECO!
